Places to See in East Village, New York
- Alamo, 743 Broadway, 10003 – This is Astor Place’s central sculpture. One of its sister cubes is located at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This sculpture was removed in 2015 but reinstalled in the fall of 2016.

- Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space (MoRUS), 155 Loisaida Ave, 10009 – A tiny museum illustrating the history of community action.
- Ottendorfer Library, 135 2nd Ave, 10003 – Built in 1884 as a “Freie Bibliothek u. Lesehalle” (free library and reading hall), it is now a branch of the New York Public Library.
- Tompkins Square Park, E 10th St, 10009 – A pleasant park with a long history of political protests and radical philosophy.
