Microsoft 365 takes the familiar Microsoft Office applications and adds an extra layer of accessibility and team collaboration to them. This week, our tip covers how to put those features to work in Microsoft Word, from editing documents on the go to inviting collaborators and gathering feedback in real time.
Anywhere Access
Life doesn’t always happen at your desk. If you need to work on a Word document from a different location or device, Microsoft OneDrive makes that seamless. Save your document to OneDrive, sign in to your Microsoft 365 account on any device, and your file is right there waiting in your recent history, no USB drive or emailed attachment required.
Putting In Your Two Cents
A big part of collaboration is brainstorming and providing feedback. Microsoft 365 Word lets you and your team work on documents together and add comments to share an insight or flag a section that needs more attention. The comment thread stays attached to the relevant text, keeping feedback organized rather than scattered across email chains.
Your collaborators can also reply directly to your comments, making it easy to refine ideas, debate phrasing, and arrive at the best version of your document together.
Inviting Collaborators
Adding people to your document is straightforward. With your file saved to OneDrive or SharePoint, you can share access via email and control whether recipients can edit or only view the document. You can even send the file as an attachment in a variety of formats when a shared link isn’t what you need.
To reach the sharing options from within Word, click the File tab at the top and select Share, or look for the Share button in the upper-right corner of the ribbon.
Put Microsoft 365 Collaboration to Work for Your Business
Microsoft 365 is built for teamwork, and these Word features are just a small slice of what the platform can do across your organization. When your team can access, edit, and review documents from anywhere without losing track of feedback or version history, productivity follows.
